Cation exchange resin is a chemical substance that is mainly used in the manufacture of refined sugar and the purification of advanced edible syrups. Ion exchange resin is generally porous or granular, and its size is about 0.5~1.0mm.

When the cation exchange resin encounters water, it can exchange one of its own active ions with a certain electric ion in the water, that is, a displacement reaction occurs, and the soluble ions in the water are removed. Cationic exchange resins are powdery and spherical, all of which are artificially synthesized and have a complex structure. They are mainly composed of two parts: one is the polymer skeleton, denoted as R; composition. In industrial applications, the advantages of ion exchange resins are mainly large processing capacity, wide range of decolorization, high decolorization capacity, ability to remove various ions, repeated regeneration, long working life, and low operating costs.

The ion exchange process is a reversible chemical reaction between the ions in the liquid phase and the ions in the solid phase. Exchange solid adsorption, in order to maintain the electrical neutrality of the aqueous solution, the ion exchange solid must release equivalent ions back into the solution. 
 

 Strongly acidic cation exchange resin: mainly contains strong acidic reactive groups such as sulfonic acid groups (-SO3H), this ion exchange resin can exchange all cations.
 

Weak acid type cation exchange resin: with weaker reactive groups such as carboxyl (-COOH group), this ion exchange resin can only exchange cations in weak bases such as Ca and Mg, for ions in strong bases such as Na, K, etc. Unable to make an exchange.

Cationic resins are polymers prepared by polymerizing styrene and divinylbenzene and sulfonating them with sulfuric acid. The production process does not contain gelatin or any other animal extracts.
